Job summary

King Asphalt, Inc. is seeking a Work Zone Traffic Control team member to implement and manage traffic control plans on projects in the Conway, SC area. You will operate trucks, install devices, and assist with site safety.

Qualified candidates will have ATSSA certification and proven flagger experience, plus the ability to work in various weather conditions and communicate clearly with team members and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Certification through ATSSA or equivalent is required or can be obtained at onboarding.
• Proven experience working as a flagger.
• Sound knowledge of state traffic regulations.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work in harsh weather conditions.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional observation skills.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform work zone traffic control activities as needed and required.
• Develop and execute an effective traffic control plan with project management.
• Conduct daily and routine work zone traffic control inspections.
• Train and develop workers who perform work zone traffic control tasks.
• Operate pickups and/or flatbed trucks and related hand tools.
• Work from ladders, lifts, or scaffolds to install, maintain or repair traffic control devices.
• Load and unload trucks and haul and lift materials.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and timely.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and inventory of equipment and materials.
• Ensure tasks comply with company, local, state and federal rules and regulations.
• Communicate problems or concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor or manager.
