Job summary

Primoris Services Corp. is seeking a Traffic Flagger to ensure the safety of construction crews and the public by directing traffic around work zones.

The role involves setting up temporary traffic control devices, directing traffic with hand signals, and coordinating with crews to maintain smooth flow under MUTCD guidelines. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (preferred), valid flagger certification, and good physical stamina.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Flagger certification (e.g., ATSSA, ANSI) preferred.
  • Previous experience in traffic control or construction flagging is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk on uneven terrain, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and nights, as projects require.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation is often preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain temporary traffic control devices, including signs, cones, and barricades, according to MUTCD standards and company procedures.
  • Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic safely and efficiently around construction sites using hand signals and flag paddles.
  • Communicate effectively with construction crews, equipment operators, and other flaggers to coordinate traffic movements.
  • Monitor traffic patterns and anticipate potential hazards to prevent accidents.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to the immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with the public.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project needs.
