Job summary

City of Southfield is seeking a Traffic Control Sign Installer/Maintenance role based in Southfield, MI. You will install and maintain traffic control signs and pavement markings, keep records, and ensure safety standards are followed.

Role may require nights, weekends, and overtime; CDL-B with air brakes is needed. Training on sign manufacturing and pavement marking processes will be provided. Benefits include health care, retirement, and other employee programs.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Willingness to work off-standard shift hours (nights, weekends, call backs) and overtime as required.
• Experience with leading seasonal employees.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain traffic control signs and pavement markings.
• Keep accurate records of sign installations and update computer records.
• Adhere to safety standards for installation and maintenance of traffic control devices.
• Learn sign manufacturing, installation and pavement marking processes.
• Set up barricades for lane and road closures and city events; maintain barricades and related equipment.
