Job summary

TRP Infrastructure Services in Austin, TX seeks a hands-on General Labor/Sign Production helper to support traffic control sign manufacturing. You will operate equipment, cut, dig, lay out signs, and maintain safety and quality.

Experience in sign production or general labor is welcome; a Class A CDL is preferred but not required. This role requires physical work, overtime may apply, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Experience in general labor or traffic control sign production.
• Ability to safely operate a Bobcat or other skid steer and use hand augers, post hole diggers, and breaker bars.
• Ability to mix concrete and dig holes by hand when needed.
• Ability to read work orders and instructions, follow safety procedures, and check work for quality.

Responsibilities

• Produce traffic control and roadway signs to approved layouts, specifications, schedules, and applicable TxDOT requirements.
• Operate sign printing, cutting, laminating, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
• Read work orders and sign layouts, and select substrates, reflective sheeting, and other materials.
• Inspect completed signs for dimensions, color, alignment, finish, and overall quality.
• Operate a Bobcat or other skid steer and perform general labor tasks.
• Use hand augers, post hole diggers, and breaker bars; mix concrete and occasionally dig holes by hand.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in safe condition, and follow company safety procedures and shop requirements.
• Track production quantities and material or inventory usage as required.
• Assist with packaging, staging, and preparing completed signs for shipment.

Requirements

Required qualifications

• Experience in general labor or traffic control sign production
• Ability to safely operate a Bobcat or other skid steer and use hand augers, post hole diggers, and breaker bars
• Ability to mix concrete and dig holes by hand when needed
• Ability to read work orders and instructions, follow safety procedures, and check work for quality

Preferred Experience

• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL)
• Experience producing or printing traffic control signs, including heavy highway and roadway signage
• Knowledge of TxDOT sign standards, roadway sign requirements, substrates, reflective sheeting, and related production materials
• TrafficCAD or comparable traffic sign design software; FlexiDESIGN or related sign production software
• 3M printing systems and materials; Mimaki and HP printers; Graphtec cutting equipment

Physical requirements and schedule

• Regularly lift and carry 50 pounds or more
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical production work for extended periods
• Work overtime, evenings, or weekends and travel when business needs require
