Job summary

Dickerson & Bowen seeks a diligent Traffic Control Superintendent to lead the traffic control program for paving projects in Mississippi. You will design plans, coordinate work zones, manage crews, and uphold safety and quality standards on site.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5+ years in traffic control with 3+ years of crew leadership. Certification in Traffic Control and related credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in traffic control, roadway construction, or work zone.
• 3+ years leading field crews or supervisors.
• Experience with paving, milling, or highway projects.
• Experience reviewing temporary traffic control plans.

Responsibilities

• Traffic Control Program Leadership: design and improve the department, SOPs, training, and staffing.
• Traffic Control Design and Planning: develop site plans, lane closures, detours, and align with standards.
• Crew Leadership and Workforce Development: train and manage technicians and foremen; ensure performance.
• Safety, Compliance, and Quality Assurance: enforce credentials, inspect, audit, and document activities.
• Equipment, Fleet, and Inventory Management: manage devices, vehicles, and maintenance.
• Project Coordination, Estimating, and Cost Control: participate in preconstruction, budgeting, and resource planning.
