Primoris Heavy Civil is currently searching for an experienced Traffic Control Foreman for our Waco, TX project. The Traffic Control Foreman for roads, bridges, and highway construction projects is responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of traffic control plans to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant traffic flow during construction sites. This role involves supervising a team of traffic control workers, ensuring compliance with local traffic laws, and implementing safety measures to protect workers, drivers, and pedestrians.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Supervise and lead the setup, operation, and removal of traffic control devices for construction, maintenance, or repair projects on roads, bridges, and highways.
- Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of traffic control plans, including signs, barricades, cones, and flagging systems.
- Ensure that all traffic control measures comply with local and federal safety regulations and guidelines.
- Adjust and reconfigure traffic control devices as necessary based on evolving worksite conditions.
- Communicate regularly with the project manager, construction crews, and other project management staff to ensure proper coordination of traffic control measures.
- Provide updates on traffic control issues and progress during meetings.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to traffic control as they arise.
- Provide quick and effective solutions to minimize traffic disruptions and ensure the safety of all road users.
- Complete daily reports, including equipment checks, manpower usage, and safety observations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in traffic control management, construction, or highway/bridge projects.
- In-depth knowledge of traffic control devices, safety regulations, and best practices specific to road, bridge, and highway construction.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
- Job site safety requirements as required by the client (long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
Physical Requirements:
- Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
- Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.
- Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces.
- Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)
- Must be able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.
