Job summary

AWP Safety, Inc. is seeking Protectors to join our traffic management team in Bakersfield, CA. No prior experience or degree required; we provide training and support to help you build a lasting career.

Daily work includes setting up cones, signs, and barricades, guiding traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and maintaining safety at the worksite. Expect outdoor shifts in all weather, with some nights and weekends based on needs.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40-50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules taught in training.

Your daily work includes:

Setting up cones, signs, and barricadesand taking traffic control equipment down

Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic, watching traffic and job site activity

Following all safety rules taught in training

Communicating with your crew and supervisor

Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe

Working outside all year, in all weather

Shifts may change based on job needs:Some nights, weekends, or emergency work may berequired

You may stand or walk8 to 12 hours per shift

We give you a hard hat, safety goggles, a safety vest, safety whistle, walkie talkie, and cold/hot weather gear: you bring your own steel toe safetyboots that go above the ankle.

Qualifications

Additional Information

Pay:

• $27.85 - this is a private work rate position (must be able to pay union dues)
• Pay increasesin your first year
