Job summary

AWP Safety is hiring Protectors to join our on-site traffic management teams. No experience or degree is required; we provide training and safety gear, and you’ll work outdoors on traffic control assignments with a supportive crew.

Expect 8 to 12 hour shifts, some nights and weekends, with pay between $17.23 and $18.07 per hour. You’ll set up cones and signs, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, follow safety rules, and help keep equipment and sites clean.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to stand/walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift 40–50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Flexible schedule with potential nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and remove equipment after shifts.
• Use stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor job site activity.
• Follow safety rules taught in training and communicate with crew.
• Keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe; work outdoors year-round.
• Stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift; may include night or weekend shifts.
