Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking a Protector to join our traffic management team. You will work at job sites setting up cones, signs, and barricades, and guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle. No prior experience or degree is needed; we provide training and safety certification.

This outdoor, year-round role requires standing or walking long hours, lifting 40–50 pounds, and staying alert around moving traffic. Shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergencies.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to stand or walk outdoors for long periods.
• Ability to lift 40-50 pounds and work in changing weather conditions.
• Willingness to work in traffic; flexible schedule; pass pre-hire drug test.
• Safety-sensitive role; stay alert around moving traffic and follow rules.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and take traffic control equipment down.
• Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor site activity.
• Follow all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with your crew and supervisor.
• Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outside all year, in all weather.
• Shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergencies.
• Stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift.
