Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems Abingdon, Virginia, is seeking a Traffic Control Flagger II to direct traffic around construction sites and work zones. The role involves setting up traffic control devices, using hand signals, and communicating with motorists to keep workers and the public safe.

The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license, be able to pass background checks, and complete ATSSA Flagger and Defensive Driver training. Travel statewide and night/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Must pass background and motor vehicle records check.
• Must pass drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Wear proper safety equipment as required.
• Complete ATSSA Flagger training and Defensive Driver training.
• Willingness to travel statewide and work nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Set up signs, cones and barricades to divert traffic around work areas.
• Effectively manage traffic flow with stop/slow paddles.
• Maintain clear communication with team via two-way radios.
• Stand and walk for long periods (up to 10 hours).
• Lift, carry or move items over 50 pounds.
• Drive company vehicles to transport traffic control equipment.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
