Job summary

Meridian is hiring experienced and entry-level Traffic Control Flaggers to safely direct traffic around construction sites using cones, signs, and barricades. Join a team dedicated to safety and efficiency in busy work zones.

Responsibilities include directing traffic, monitoring hazards, coordinating with the crew, and inspecting devices to ensure MUTCD compliance. The role requires physical stamina, a valid driver’s license, and availability for early mornings, overtime, weekends, and night

This Position: We are currently hiring experienced and entry-level Traffic Control Flaggers. Our flaggers work with construction crews to safely control traffic flow in and around the construction site using traffic cones, warning signs and barricades.

• Safely direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic through construction and work zones.
• Monitor traffic patterns and identify potential safety hazards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and fellow flaggers to coordinate traffic control operations.
• Inspect, maintain, and adjust traffic control devices to ensure compliance with MUTCD and company safety standards.
• Promote a safe work environment for employees, motorists, and the public.
• Follow all company, local, state, and federal safety regulations

Key Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• You can stand for extended periods of time and can meet other physical demands of the job
• Possess a valid state driver’s license
• Able to work in extreme weather conditions (hot or cold) when required and necessary
• Available to work M-F (starting as early as 6:00 AM), plus overtime
• Available to work weekends and nights when required and necessary
• Reliable transportation to and from work

Benefits and compensation:

• Hourly rate: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour, based on experience
• Regular wage increases, and overtime opportunities
• 13 days paid time off, plus 7 paid holidays each year
• Weekly pay periods
• 401(k) with employer match
