Job summary

Sweeping Corporation of America in Bloomington, Indiana seeks a full-time person to perform roadway signing and traffic control tasks. On-the-job training will be provided, and you will install and maintain traffic control devices near job sites.

You will read plans, drive posts, position signs, and handle lane closures and detours. The role requires physical work outdoors, lifting up to 100 pounds, valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Traffic Control Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor training is preferred; however, training may be provided during employment.

• Install and maintain traffic control devices on or adjacent to job sites.
• Set and maintain traffic control throughout project duration, ensuring devices remain in proper location and working condition.
• Install prefabricated directional and informational signs by hoisting into place and fastening to frameworks.
• Read and work from plans to accurately locate, drive posts, and position signs.
• Perform related signing work, including delineators, pavement striping, striping removal, reflective pavement markers, lane closures, and detours.
• Service, maintain, and repair equipment and traffic control devices as needed.

Job Requirements

• Reliable attendance with the ability to report to work on time each day.
• Dependable transportation to and from the job site.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high and low temperatures.
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
