Job summary

Sweeping Corporation of America is seeking a dependable Traffic Control Technician to install and maintain roadway signing and traffic control devices at on-site locations in Lafayette, IN. On-the-job training will be provided to support safe, compliant operations.

The role requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather, lift up to 100 pounds, and pass a pre-employment drug screen. A valid driver’s license is required for site travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Traffic Control Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor training is preferred; however training may be provided during employment.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain traffic control devices on or adjacent to job sites.
• Set and maintain traffic control throughout project duration, ensuring devices remain in proper location and working condition.
• Install prefabricated directional and informational signs by hoisting into place and fastening to frameworks.
• Read and work from plans to accurately locate, drive posts, and position signs.
• Perform related signing work, including delineators, pavement striping, striping removal, reflective pavement markers, lane closures, and detours.
• Service, maintain, and repair equipment and traffic control devices as needed.

• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
