Job summary

Sweeping Corporation of America in Bloomington, IN is seeking a dependable Traffic Control Technician to join our on-site team. You will install and maintain traffic control devices, read plans, and set up signs on roadway projects with on-the-job training provided.

The role requires physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds, pass a pre-employment drug screen, have a valid driver's license, and report to work reliably.

Qualifications

• Hard hat, safety vest and other PPE required as per site rules.
• Training on traffic control operations will be provided.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain traffic control devices on or adjacent to job sites.
• Set and maintain traffic control throughout project duration.
• Install prefabricated directional and informational signs by hoisting and fastening.
• Read plans to locate, drive posts, and position signs.
• Perform signing work including delineators, striping, reflective markers, lane closures, detours.
• Service, maintain, and repair equipment and devices as needed.

Job description

Position Summary

The selected candidate will perform a variety of duties related to roadway signing and traffic control projects. On-the-job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and maintain traffic control devices on or adjacent to job sites.
• Set and maintain traffic control throughout project duration, ensuring devices remain in proper location and working condition.
• Install prefabricated directional and informational signs by hoisting into place and fastening to frameworks.
• Read and work from plans to accurately locate, drive posts, and position signs.
• Perform related signing work, including delineators, pavement striping, striping removal, reflective pavement markers, lane closures, and detours.
• Service, maintain, and repair equipment and traffic control devices as needed.

Job Requirements

• Reliable attendance with the ability to report to work on time each day.
• Dependable transportation to and from the job site.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high and low temperatures.
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Traffic Control Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor training is preferred; however, training may be provided during employment.
