Job summary

Spivey Services in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Traffic Control Supervisor to lead field crews in setting up, monitoring, and removing work zones in line with VWAPM and client specs. You will supervise crews, coordinate readiness, and ensure safety for workers and the traveling public.

This role requires a Virginia driver’s license, 2+ years in traffic control or construction, and the ability to work day or night shifts while traveling to multiple sites. We offer weekly pay and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia driver's license required.
• At least 2 years of field experience in traffic control or construction.
• Ability to drive large trucks (18'-24') without CDL.
• Ability to lead small crews with professionalism and urgency.
• Able to work day or night shifts and travel to multiple sites; pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee traffic control crews in setting up, monitoring, and removing work zones.
• Ensure operations meet VWAPM and project standards.
• Communicate with contractors, clients, and leadership about daily site operations.
• Document site activity, crew attendance, and safety concerns.
• Maintain clean and organized vehicles, equipment, and materials.
• Respond to emergencies and adjust traffic control setups in real time.
• Coach and train crew members on best practices and expectations.
