Job summary

The City of Mesa is seeking a Traffic Control Coordinator to design, coordinate, plan, and advise on traffic control plans for construction projects and events. You will coordinate road closures, traffic control, and signalization with City departments and external partners.

Responsibilities include preparing traffic control plans for events, assisting with outside coordinators, responding to inquiries, and training staff on barricading and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of traffic control barricading experience.
• Must possess a valid Class D Arizona Driver's License by hire date.
• Substance Abuse Testing as outlined in City policy.
• ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor certification (preferred).
• Experience dealing with the public.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, plan, and advise on traffic control plans for construction projects and special events.
• Coordinate road closures, traffic control, and signalization issues with City departments and external partners.
• Prepare traffic control plans for events and assist outside event coordinators with plans for various events.
• Respond to inquiries and complaints from the public, contractors, developers, and City departments.
• Respond to traffic control in emergencies and train City staff on barricading.
