The Opportunity

RS&H is currently seeking a Traffic Control Engineer for our Transportation practice in our Raleigh, NC Office!

The Traffic Control Engineer will perform tasks associated with maintenance of traffic, pavement marking, and signing projects. This role involves advising clients and staff, consulting, reviewing work as an expert in traffic control engineering, managing contracts, preparing technical documents, coordinating with clients, assisting with business development, preparing scope and fee estimates, mentoring junior staff, and implementing quality control processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in traffic control engineering.
• Experience in traffic control, pavement marking, and signing design.
• Ability to evaluate traffic operations and safety issues, applying sound engineering principles.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with traffic engineering tools such as Microstation, GuideSign, MUTCD.
• Familiarity with traffic control standards and practices at local, state, and national levels.
• Experience managing and mentoring junior staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT).
• Experience with Open Roads.
