Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is hiring a Traffic Control Driver/Laborer for prevailing wage projects. You will set up and take down lane closures on state highways and other roadways while ensuring the safety of workers and the public and transporting safety products to job sites.

This non-exempt role requires a valid driver's license, ability to pass background and drug tests (DOT), and willingness to travel, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must pass background check including motor vehicle records.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Wear safety equipment (boots with toe protection, hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest).
• Ability to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented and maintained.
• Knowledge of state/local roadways; experience with delivery vehicles incl. trailers.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays; nights/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to and from projects and on work sites to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas.
• Set up traffic cones and other safety devices in work areas.
• Monitor the work zone throughout the shift for proper placement.
• Load traffic control items at the start and end of shifts.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
• Perform shop maintenance on equipment.
• Follow all safety rules and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
