Job summary

The City of Sedona is seeking Traffic Control Assistants to support traffic control in Uptown and other areas as assigned. Work independently or with a crew, directing traffic and setting up devices as signed.

Training provided for new hires, with certification expected within two months and a valid Arizona driver’s license required within two months. No prior experience is necessary as training is provided; GED or high school diploma is acceptable.

Qualifications

• Pass and obtain Flaggers Certification within two months of hire.
• Experience in traffic control or customer service desirable.
• Arizona driver's license within two months of employment.

Summary of position

Traffic Control Assistants actively support and assist the City of Sedona in maintaining traffic control in the Uptown area andother areas of the city as assigned. Work independently or part of a traffic control crew. Perform a variety of duties including directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, setting up traffic control devicesand/or other duties as a signed.

• Ability to pass and obtain (City provided training)Flaggers Certification within two months of hire.


• Possession of an Arizona valid driver's license within two months of employment.


• No experience necessary, will train. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), experience in traffic control or a customer service-related field desirable.
