Job summary

The City of Eugene Public Works Engineering Division is seeking Civil Engineer 1/2 to join the Traffic Engineering Team. This role involves planning, investigation, and design of public works projects including streets, bike paths, and traffic signals, with collaboration across departments and with the development community.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering required.
• CE1 requires 2 years of related civil engineering experience and an EIT certificate.
• CE2 requires 5 years of civil engineering experience including 1 year supervisory experience; PE license or reciprocity within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on design and preparation of plans, specifications, schedules and cost estimates for public works projects with focus on streets, bike paths, traffic signals, and signing plans.
• Performs traffic studies and analyzes the transportation system for safety and capacity using data-driven methods.
• Provides transportation-focused engineering expertise for planning, design and construction of capital improvement projects.
• Reviews transportation studies conducted by consultants and collaborates with colleagues and stakeholders to implement long-range transportation planning.
• Prepares and administers project budgets, contracts, and grant agreements with consultants and outside agencies.
