Deloitte is seeking a Commodity Trading & Value Chain Optimization Senior Consultant to drive improvements across trading, logistics and value chains for clients in energy and commodities. As a Commodity Trading & Value Chain Optimization Senior Consultant on the Enterprise Operations & Risk team, you will be responsible for:
Lead analysis across the commodity trade lifecycle to identify process, data, and control improvement opportunities
Support value chain optimization initiatives across downstream oil and gas and other commodity-intensive sectors
Analyze commercial and operational data to quantify value and support performance improvement recommendations
Lead workstreams with client stakeholders and Deloitte teams to align deliverables, timelines, and implementation needs
Develop client-ready analyses, presentations, and pursuit materials

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or Economics
4+ years of experience in commodity trading, value chain optimization, operations, supply chain, or consulting
Experience across downstream oil and gas functions, including refining, shipping, storage, marketing, or commodity trading operations
Experience across the commodity trade lifecycle, including deal capture, scheduling or nomination, pricing, settlements, or market or credit risk exposure
Experience creating analyses, presentations, or financial models used to quantify business value
Ability to travel 75%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Experience with financial modeling to quantify value and business benefits
Experience using data, analytics, or artificial intelligence in commercial or operational optimization
Experience with commodity trading and risk management or energy trading and risk management platforms, including ION Endur or Openlink, Allegro, RightAngle, Eka, TriplePoint, or SAP Commodity Management
Experience with one or more commodity markets, including power, natural gas, crude oil, refined products, liquefied natural gas, metals, or agriculture
Experience working in a consulting or advisory environment
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,700 to $218,300.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
