Qualifications

• Solid Linux system administration experience.
• Proficiency in Python beyond scripting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the hypervisor environment for trader VMs: sizing, capacity planning, patching, snapshots, backups, and decommissioning.
• Maintain Python interface to traders' scripts communicating with C++ strategy applications; coordinate protobuf/interface changes.
• Provision and configure new VMs for traders with correct resources and connectivity.
• Onboard traders onto the platform and provide first-line support for environment, connectivity, and script-execution issues.
• Build internal tooling and automation (primarily Python) to streamline provisioning, monitoring, and support workflows.
• Administer Linux systems and troubleshoot connectivity between the Chicago office and NY-colocated infrastructure.
• Write and maintain documentation, runbooks, and self-service guides for traders and IT.
• Collaborate with the C++ and C# engineering teams as part of the broader tech org.
