Job summary

The Voleon Group, based in Berkeley, seeks an Associate Member of Trading Staff to rotate across credit, equity, forex, and derivatives desks and learn asset classes. You will interact with brokers and researchers, build analytics, and help scale the trading program while working US and Asian market hours from the Berkeley office.

You should be proficient in Python or R, comfortable with Unix-like OS, and have a solid grounding in statistics, data analysis, and visualization.

Qualifications

• Experience with Unix-like OS
• Academic or practical familiarity with statistics
• Data analysis and visualization skills
• Attention to detail and clarity of thought

Responsibilities

• Monitor high-volume execution algorithms and portfolio risk
• Interface with external brokers and trading counterparties
• Contribute to the codebase behind automated trading operations
• Build processes and technology to prevent errors or outages while increasing team capacity
• Provide insight and expertise to the research and development staff
• Work global market hours on a rotational basis
