Trading Associate
Compensation
Salary target: $60,000 – $80,000, with eligibility for an annual bonus.
Responsibilities
Daily Trade Team Process Management
- Efficiently and accurately execute trading and review of daily deposit report.
- Efficiently manage daily excess cash report and invest where required, communicating with advisor teams as needed.
- Maintain cash reserves by efficiently managing daily cash needs report for client distributions and ongoing cash requirements.
- Develop an understanding of the monthly fee management process.
- Manage internal tools for meeting schedules, training assistants, and utilize MS Office tools to accomplish job functions.
Utilize Internal and External Software Platforms to Provide World Class Trade Execution
- Demonstrate proficiency navigating custodian interfaces (Schwab Advisor Center, TD Ameritrade VEO One, Fidelity Wealthscape, Pershing 360x, Raymond James Client Center, LPL Client Works).
- Advise client‑facing teams on trade activity when called upon.
- Review daily alert functions from custodian interfaces to identify and resolve ongoing trade‑team related items.
- Recommend automated trade‑team process solutions to manage recurring alert occurrences.
- Execute other tasks as assigned by manager.
Provide Excellent Advisor and Client Service Executing Incoming Trade Requests
- Navigate WEG internal CRM/order management system (Salesforce) and third‑party rebalancing/reports tools to process standard daily trade requests from advisor teams.
- Accurately implement new client account portfolios.
- Understand WEG internal trading processes and handle advisor/client‑driven trade requests.
- Maintain strong working relationships with Client Service members of WEG Advisor Teams to facilitate efficient trading and resolution of open trade‑team related subjects.
Provide Excellent Execution and Support to Advisor Teams Through Strong Investment Intelligence
- Demonstrate an intimate understanding of financial markets and trading mechanics.
- Show working knowledge of WEG’s general investment philosophy.
- Recognize WEG managed portfolios, preferred securities, and intended goals for model positions and investment sleeves.
Coach and Mentor Team Members
- Integrate information from trade‑team analysts and leads to complete daily tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate with peers to ensure mutual success.
- Act as a mentor for trading assistant colleagues, solidifying personal knowledge and elevating team performance.
Education & Qualifications
- 4‑year degree in business, financial services, or a related field (preferred).
- 6 to 12 months of experience as a trading assistant or in a similar role.
- Strong interest in trading, financial advisory, asset management, or financial planning.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaborative nature; ability to train others, coach, mentor, and provide effective feedback.
- Desire to advance is strongly recommended.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and strong knowledge of MS Excel preferred.
- Knowledge of broker‑dealer and custodial platforms and investment products.
- Ability to create training materials based on daily job tasks.
- Demonstrated experience working with FAs, planners, and client services.
- Must have good compliance standing with all rules, regulations, and policies.
