Job summary

Carrier is seeking an HVAC Apprentice Service Technician to perform field service, diagnose and repair HVAC systems, and install and calibrate equipment. You will work away from a desk, gain access to world-class training, and use cutting-edge tools while delivering reliable solutions to customers.

Expect hands-on problem solving, strong customer communication, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Company provided vehicle, tools, and comprehensive PPE support your daily work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on rooftops.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain HVAC systems for efficient operation.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in heating and cooling units.
• Install, replace, and calibrate HVAC equipment including thermostats.
• Service refrigeration equipment such as refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs and heat pumps.
• Maintain chilled and hot water supply systems and adjust internal control systems.
• Assemble and install metal ductwork and assist inHVAC system planning and design.
• Ensure compliance with City, State, and EPA regulations and maintain maintenance records.
• Identify and mitigate risks to maintain a safe working environment.

What you'll do

• Inspect and maintain air-conditioning and HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical malfunctions in heating and cooling units
• Install, replace, and calibrate HVAC equipment, including thermostatic controls and liquid lines
• Service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps
• Maintain chilled and hot water supply systems and adjust internal control systems
• Assemble and install metal ductwork and assist in HVAC system planning and design
• Ensure compliance with City, State, and EPA regulations by maintaining detailed maintenance records
• Identify and mitigate risks to maintain a safe working environment
• Collaborate with management to support safety and operational standards

Required Qualifications

• Ability to Push / Pull / Lift 50lbs
• Must be able to stand, crawl, sit, squat of extended periods of time, climb a ladder, and the ability to work on rooftop
• High School Diploma/GED
• Possess and maintain valid and current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of building automation controls
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience using Salesforce and ServiceMax is a plus

Pay Range

The hourly rate for this position is between $15.00 $30.00 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
