Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Trades Technician III (Plumber) to repair and maintain critical facilities infrastructure, including potable water systems, pumps, hot water heating, sanitary sewer, steam and condensate distribution, and fire suppression systems.

The position requires extensive journeyman-level plumbing experience in commercial settings, a valid driver’s license, and a gas fitters license, along with completion of trade school

Qualifications

Job Duties

Directly responsible to the Trades Manager for providing a safe and comfortable environment for residents & staff by repairing and maintaining properly functioning equipment and systems to include but not limited to: potable water systems, pumps, water/steam heat exchangers, hot water heating systems, sanitary sewer systems, steam and condensate distribution systems, fire suppression/sprinkler systems, and related equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Extensive experience at a Journeyman's level in commercial: Plumbing, steam and condensate systems, fire suppression and sprinkler systems.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Gas Fitters License.
• Completion of trade school and/or accredited Plumbing/Steam fitting apprenticeship.

Additional Considerations

• Journeyman (or higher) Plumbers card.

Special Instructions

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
