Piedmont Technical College seeks an experienced maintenance professional to independently perform general maintenance tasks and supervise related activities. The role covers carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, boiler operation, and energy plant operations.

You will maintain records and advise on repairs and replacements for buildings and equipment. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with trade experience and strong HVAC/electrical background.

Job Responsibilities

Independently performs general maintenance tasks and/or planning, managerial, and supervisory duties, as assigned, related to repairs, maintenance, and construction. Assists Campus Facilities Directors with repair, maintenance, and construction activities. Performs and directs activities related to repair, maintenance, and construction involving one or more trades, including carpentry, electrical work, welding, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, boiler operation, and energy plant operations. Maintains records, prepares reports regarding work activities, and makes recommendations for the repair, replacement, and maintenance of buildings and equipment. Duties may range from simple to complex.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and trade experience directly related to the area of employment are required. Candidates must have a strong background in HVAC, controls, electronics, and electrical fields.

Preferred Qualifications

An associate degree and two (2) years of directly related work experience are preferred or four (4) years of directly related work experience may be substituted. Supervisory experience and a Journeyman Mechanical license are preferred.
