Job summary

CIO Wealth Strategies, an established wealth management practice in Omaha, is seeking a Trader to support the execution of investment transactions and provide investment operations support for Financial Advisors across the practice. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Prior trading experience and securities licenses are preferred, but strong candidates willing to obtain licensing

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in trading or investment operations.
  • Active FINRA Series 7 license.
  • Strong understanding of investment products and securities transactions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to obtain required securities licenses if not currently held.

Responsibilities

  • Execute client investment transactions accurately under advisor supervision.
  • Process trades timely and maintain high accuracy.
  • Assist with model updates, trade sheets, and portfolio maintenance.
  • Review transactions for compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Initiate and manage client money movement requests.
  • Coordinate with Home Office on trading and operational issues.
  • Provide outstanding service to advisors and clients.

Job description

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Compensation: $25-$27 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and licensing status.

Training: Initial training will be conducted primarily in the Omaha office under the direction of the Trading Manager.

Position Summary:

The primary objective of the Trader is to support the execution of investment transactions and provide investment operations support for Financial Advisors across the practice. This role is responsible for accurately processing trades, handling money movement requests, and maintaining a high level of service for advisors and clients.

The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with prior trading experience and securities licenses are preferred; however, strong candidates willing to obtain licensing after hire will also be considered.

Primary Responsibilities:
Trading and Investment Operations
  • Execute client investment transactions accurately and efficiently under advisor supervision.
  • Process trades in a timely manner while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
  • Assist with model updates, trade sheets, portfolio maintenance, and related trading documentation.
  • Review transactions to ensure compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Minimize operational risk and maintain a goal of exceptional trade accuracy.
Operations & Advisor Support
  • Initiate and manage client money movement requests.
  • Prepare and process account-related documentation and operational requests.
  • Coordinate with Home Office partners regarding trading, account servicing, and operational issues.
  • Maintain systems, processes, and procedures that support efficient trading operations.
  • Respond to advisor inquiries and assist with the resolution of trade issues.
Client Service
  • Provide outstanding service to advisors.
  • Assist in resolving client service issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Build trusted relationships through responsiveness, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
Required
  • 1+ years of experience in trading, investment operations, wealth management, financial services, or a related field.
  • Active FINRA Series 7 license.
  • Strong understanding of investment products and securities transactions.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client interactions.
  • Ability to adhere to firm policies, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Willingness to obtain required securities licenses if not currently held.
Preferred
  • 3-5 years of trading or investment operations experience.
  • Active Series 66 license (or Series 63 and 65 equivalent).
  • Experience working within a wealth management, broker-dealer, or investment advisory environment.
  • Experience supporting multiple Financial Advisors.
  • Experience with trading platforms and portfolio management systems.
