Job summary

Fish & Richardson P.C. is seeking a trademark and copyright associate to counsel, prosecute, and enforce for national and international brands. The role involves handling clearance, cease and desist responses, and cross-functional collaboration within a premier IP practice.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of U.S. and foreign trademark experience, active state bar status, and strong writing skills. A flexible hybrid work environment and competitive compensation are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide trademark counseling, clearance, and prosecution support for national and international brands.
• Prepare and respond to cease and desist letters; handle enforcement matters including domain name disputes, UDRP actions, TTAB proceedings, and social media usage issues.
• Assist with copyright matters and related counseling as part of a multidisciplinary IP practice.
• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver business-minded legal solutions.

Who You Are

• You have 2 - 4 years of U.S. and foreign trademark counseling, clearance, and prosecution experience including reviewing clearance searches and preparing substantive responses to PTO office actions.
• You have previous experience preparing and responding to cease and desist letters and handling other enforcement matters, including domain name disputes, UDRP actions, TTAB proceedings, and matters related to the use of trademarks and social media platforms.
• You have experience in copyright law.
• You have an active membership in the state bar and are in compliance with CLE requirements.
• You have superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
• You thrive when using your analytical skills to conduct complex and detailed analysis of legal matters.
• You enjoy communicating with a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff.
• You are enthusiastic about working within a team-oriented environment and will contribute to effective team relationships.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $225,000 - $260,000. The salary offered will depend upon qualifications and experience, and will be adjusted for flex-time schedules.
