Job summary

PIMCO invites current undergraduates to join the Summer Internship as a Trade Support Analyst in Newport Beach, CA. The program runs for 10 weeks, starting in early summer, with hands-on exposure to portfolio management and trading desks.

You will work closely with Associates, Traders, and Portfolio Managers, using mathematical and fixed income training to monitor portfolios and support risk management while developing key tools and insights in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree.
• Must be able to begin full-time employment at a PIMCO office between Jan 2028 and Aug 2028.
• Must be enrolled at a university during Fall 2027 (Aug 2027–Dec 2027).
• Have a minimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale at an accredited 4-year college or university.
• Business proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure investment objectives are implemented across portfolios in scope.
• Monitor portfolio positions versus client guidelines with Compliance.
• Coordinate with Portfolio Management on re-balancing of portfolios.
• Utilize proprietary risk systems for monitoring portfolio exposures.
• Assist in account transitions and cash flow management.
• Conduct performance and attribution analyses.
• Respond to ad hoc requests from the Portfolio Management team.
