Job summary

Geneva Trading, a leading global principal trading firm with offices in Chicago, Dublin, and London, offers a 10-week, full-time paid Trade Support Engineer (Intern) internship for ambitious students.

You will support the change release process, troubleshoot on trading desks, review logs, and develop automation scripts using Python/PowerShell/Bash, with guidance from DevOps and Development teams. Mentorship and AI-enabled learning are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Information Technology or related field.
• Experience troubleshooting, documenting, basic networking concepts, and Windows OS.
• Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Foundational AI concepts and willingness to use AI tools for problem-solving
• Strong communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers through the change release process and deployment, troubleshoot, and escalate to DevOps/Development as needed.
• Learn to troubleshoot issues that arise on trading desks.
• Review log files to identify issues and propose solutions.
• Assist in management and tuning of monitoring tools to prioritize alerts.

Intern With Geneva Trading

Geneva Trading is looking for ambitious, entrepreneurial students to join our systems reliability engineering team for a trade support internship next summer.Our internship program is a fast-paced, dynamic 10-week full-time paid position that gives you hands-on experience in the trading industry.Our interns are expected to design solutions to complex problems and work on projects that directlyimpactthe firm.You’llreceive mentorship by industry pros and willparticipatein corporate training, teambuilding activities, and firmwide summer socials to strengthen your connection with other interns and full-time employees. As a Trade Support Engineer (Intern) You Will

• Support engineers through the change release process and deployment, troubleshoot, and escape to the DevOps and Development team when necessary

• Learn to troubleshoot issues that arise on trading desks

• Review log files to find application issues, bring awareness of common issues, and propose solutions

• Assistin the management and tuning of monitoring tools to prioritize alerts

• Develop scripts to automate tasks as needed

• Leverage generative AI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) to accelerate script development andoptimizetroubleshooting workflows

• Explore andassistin implementing AI-driven solutions for log analysis, anomaly detection, and proactive system monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Information Technology or a similar field of study

• Experience troubleshooting, documenting, basic networking concepts, and Windows OS

• Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)

• Foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts and a strong willingness to utilize AI tools for effective problem-solving

• Problem solver and self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Pythonproficiencyhighly preferred

• Experience with cloud services/platforms, log tools, queries, and Jira preferred

• Strong project management experience preferred

• Experience with AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g., "GitHub Copilot") or integrating AI/ML APIs into automation scripts

Compensation

Hourly Range: $30-35/hr

The final hourly rate will be dependent on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, education, and qualifications.
