Job summary

UNIPEC America, Inc. is seeking a Trade Settlement Analyst to handle end-to-end settlement of physical commodity transactions across refined products, marine crude, and pipeline crude.

You will manage invoices, payments, receivables, and reconciliation while coordinating with traders, finance, and external vendors for timely and compliant settlements. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and familiarity with settlements in a trading environment, along with strong MS Office skills and excellent

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with settlements and trading environment preferred.
  • Internship in a similar role is a plus.
  • Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quick learner and willing to work in a trading environment with high volumes of oil trading.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-starter and proactive.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate invoices received from counterparties, vendors and brokers, ensuring all information is accurately reflected in the system.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with traders, operators, counterparties, vendors, and brokers.
  • Arrange and process all trade-related payments and receivables for physical commodity transactions, ensuring timely and accurate settlement.
  • Coordinate and process miscellaneous vendor invoices, including but not limited to inspection, loss control, tank storage, broker and other operational service providers.
  • Prepare daily and monthly payment planning schedules, coordinating with Finance team to ensure adequate cash flow and timely execution of payments.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with counterparties to ensure timely collections.
  • Develop a strong understanding of commodity markets, counterparties, pricing mechanisms, transportation methods, title transfer risks, and settlement processes.
  • Support traders and operators by preparing internal reports, maintaining settlement documents, and providing operational support.
  • Ensure all settlements comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

The Trade Settlement Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of physical commodity transactions across refined products, marine crude, and pipeline crude. This role manages the end-to-end settlement process, including payment and receivable arrangements, invoice verification, payment planning, and reconciliation of trade-related transactions. The analyst works closely with counterparties, brokers, traders, operators/schedulers, finance, and external vendors to resolve discrepancies, mitigate settlement risks, maintain regulatory compliance, and support operational efficiency for both U.S. Domestic and International trades.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Experience with settlements and trading environment preferred

  • This position requires permanent, unconditional authorization to work in the United States as a condition of employment.
