Job summary

Computacenter AG & Co. oHG is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to ensure export and import regulatory compliance for its global IT services delivery.

You’ll support customers, collaborate with partners, and help implement trade programs while upholding the company’s public-relations responsibilities. The role demands a US work eligibility, a bachelor’s degree, and at least two years in international trade or compliance, with ambitions to obtain a Customs Broker license.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience.
• 2 years of experience in international trade, import/export compliance, or equivalent.
• Willingness to obtain Customs Broker license.
• Exceptional customer service experience; energetic personality who can get things done.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of standard logistics and transportation requirements and procedures a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
• Strong organizational and time/project management skills.
• Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-starter initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supplement the Compliance role by providing support to customers.
• Partner internally and externally to manage international shipments by liaising with governments, warehouse/logistics staff, freight forwarders/customs brokers, and other stakeholders.
• Assist the Director of Global Trade & Compliance with the implementation of various Trade related programs and duties including but not limited to legal and regulatory compliance, auditing, and public relations.
• Collaborate on, implement and help monitor company-wide policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US and foreign import and export regulations as well as to legal and regulatory compliance, public relations and government relations.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of compliance manual, processes, work instructions, and other requirements as needed, including research.
• Perform day-to-day legal and regulatory compliance.
• Provide support for obtaining applicable shipment permits and product certificates.
• Research and determine Harmonized Tariff classifications, and ECCN numbers.
• Support customer compliance and reliability screening, screening for end-use and end-users and review for Red Flags in accordance with legal and regulatory rules.
• Assist with the design and delivery of trade compliance training for various internal audiences.
• Participate in projects to enhance trade compliance efficiency and value contribution.

About the role

As the Trade Compliance Specialist, you will provide legal and regulatory compliance in export and import trade to ensure compliance and guarantee a smooth process of delivery of goods to key customers around the globe for an $800M+ IT services provider. At the same time, you will take a public relations role where you will collaborate with internal and external partners and ensure that timely responses to requests.

Annual compensation: $85K USD

What you’ll be doing

What you have
