Job description

HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW

Oversee & support Trade Compliance business unit functions – primarily Imports, with some Exports. Remote work is possible if you reside in any of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia.

EXPECTATIONS

  1. Oversee & support Business Units in the Trade Compliance function.
  2. Assess current Trade Compliance programs, recommend improvements, and implement guidelines across all Business Units.
  3. Support, guide, audit, and train Business Units on Trade Compliance matters.
  4. Consult with Counsel on necessary Trade Compliance issues.
  5. Manage all import/export licensing processes.
  6. Oversee Free Trade Agreements, especially USMCA.
  7. Provide guidance on classifications such as HTS and ECCN.
  8. Establish KPIs for Freight Forwarders and Brokers, and conduct audits.
  9. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities, including duty drawback and Maquila program reconciliation.
  10. Coordinate with government agencies, notably CBP and BIS.
  11. Develop procedures, manuals, and training programs.

ESSENTIALS

  1. Bachelor's Degree; LCB certification is a plus.
  2. Experience in corporate trade compliance, preferably in North America.
  3. Comprehensive experience with all aspects of importing as described above.
  4. Some export licensing experience.
  5. Experience with FTZ and Maquiladora operations is required.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  7. Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
