Job description

Trade Compliance Business Unit Manager

Oversee and support the Trade Compliance business unit functions, primarily focusing on imports with some exports. This position can be remote if you reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia.

Expectations
  • Oversee and support Business Units in the Trade Compliance function.
  • Assess current Trade Compliance programs, make recommendations, and implement guidelines across all Business Units.
  • Support, guide, audit, and train Business Units regarding Trade Compliance matters.
  • Consult with Counsel on necessary Trade Compliance issues.
  • Manage all import/export licensing processes.
  • Oversee Free Trade Agreements, especially USMCA.
  • Provide guidance on classifications such as HTS and ECCN.
  • Establish KPIs for freight forwarding and brokers, including audits.
  • Identify potential cost savings through programs like duty drawback and Maquila reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, notably CBP and BIS.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred; LCB certification is a plus.
  • Experience in corporate trade compliance, preferably within North America.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of importing as outlined above.
  • Extensive proficiency in Microsoft applications.
