Job summary

Magna Powertrain is seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst to support North American trade compliance programs, ensuring adherence to U.S., Canadian, and international regulations. You will collaborate with internal teams and brokers to facilitate compliant cross-border transactions and manage HTS classifications.

You will review documents, support audits, and help drive AI-enabled solutions to improve classification accuracy and compliance outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, international business, business administration, logistics, customs administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in customs compliance, international trade, import/export operations, or customs brokerage, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred), customs management systems, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel; Power BI development is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Serve as process owner for the Broker Referral Program, ensuring timely collection, validation, and communication of critical import data to brokers for accurate filings.
• Research, assign, and maintain HTS classifications for imported products to ensure accurate, defensible classifications.
• Identify and support duty optimization opportunities through FTAs (USMCA/CUSMA, KORUS) and HTSUS provisions.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering, and Manufacturing to perform duty impact analyses.
