Drives tractor‑trailer vehicles to designated locations and operates mechanized loading and unloading equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum Experience
- Six (6) months of FedEx Express experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle preferred.
- Ability to operate mechanized loading/GSE equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment or assistance.
- Customer contact & package handling experience preferred.
- Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
- Neat appearance required for customer contact.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read and speak English to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
Job Conditions
- FMCSA covered safety‑sensitive position.
- Medical exam required.
- Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, including testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, and opioids.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and hazardous materials endorsement (HME) for the assigned vehicle type with a good driving record as outlined in policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Class A commercial driver’s license with no manual restrictions.
- Experience driving tractor‑trailer vehicles in a full‑time, variable shift environment.
Pay and Benefits
- Starting pay: $27.10 per hour.
- Full time – variable shifts, Sunday through Saturday operation.
