Job summary

St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Tractor Trailer Driver (Class A) to operate a company truck on scheduled routes to pick up donated food and return to warehouses, with occasional unscheduled pickups and deliveries to partner agencies.

Hours: 5 am until route completion. Pay starting at $27/hr. This is a safety-sensitive position with competitive benefits and opportunities to support the Arizona community.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of successful experience driving a commercial vehicle.
• CDL (Class A) with FMCSA compliance and English proficiency test.
• Good driving record.
• Current DOT Medical Certification.
• Solid interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to move and/or lift 50-75 lbs.
• Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Good planning and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain upkeep of assigned company vehicles to ensure safety, fueling, DOT, and appearance standards.
• Assist in loading/unloading trucks, operating pallet jacks and prepare equipment for the next route.
• Complete Driver Record of Duty and Vehicle Inspection Reports per DOT requirements.
• Label pallets and Food Drive boxes with donor names.
• Accurately fill out donation receipts.
• Pickup and deliver food donations, meeting on-time standards to satisfy donors.
• Maintain excellent relations with donors, merchants, and individuals while driving.
• Complete daily reports as necessary.
• Drive a Class A or B truck to complete pickups or deliveries.
• Report to the Centralized Dispatch Supervisor during downtime or delays.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• This is a safety‑sensitive position.

St. Mary’s Food Bank (SMFB) has an opening for a Tractor Trailer Driver (Class A). The driver is responsible for driving a company truck on a regularly scheduled route to pick up donated food products from donors and return to warehouses, as well as occasional unscheduled pickups and deliveries to partner agencies.
