J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Indianapolis is seeking a Tractor Technician Trainee under close supervision to build foundational knowledge of tools, shop safety, and company policies while learning air brake systems and FHWA inspections.

The role may require outdoor work, varying shifts, overtime, and weekend availability. You will shadow a senior technician, perform repairs to specifications, complete work orders, and develop skills for standard repair times.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Willing to work outdoors and across shifts including nights/weekends.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to multitask.
• Read and understand information in English.
• Wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior technician to learn repairs to manufacturer specs and complete work orders.
• Develop efficiency for standard repair times and warranty guidelines.
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
• Train to perform routine preventative maintenance and basic air brake system work.
