J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in East Syracuse, NY, seeks a Tractor Technician Trainee to gain foundational repair skills under close supervision.

You will learn air brake systems, FHWA inspections, and related shop procedures, with potential outdoor work and shifts including nights and weekends. This is a full-time role with progression toward standard repair times and warranty guidelines. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and effective communication with customers and JB Hunt personnel

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education or GED equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to work outdoors and across multiple shifts including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior team member to learn repairs to manufacturer specs and standard repair times.
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
• Gain skills in routine preventative maintenance and basic repairs for air brake systems and FHWA inspections.

Hunt Shop rules, policies, and procedures. The incumbent will learn to become efficient in, but not limited to, Air Break Systems and FHWA Inspections and the general repairs associated with them.
