Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Tractor Technician in Omaha, NE to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Class 8 tractors. You’ll diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, use diagnostic tools, and ensure DOT safety and internal standards before returning equipment to service.

You will document repairs, coordinate with the shop team, and maintain a safe, organized work environment while meeting quality and time expectations. This is a contract-to-hire, fully onsite role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 612 months of hands-on maintenance experience preferred with diesel/heavy equipment.
• Ability to read fault codes and diagnose mechanical/electrical issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Class 8 tractors to ensure safe operation.
• Diagnose and repair engines, brakes, electrical systems, and suspension components.
• Use diagnostic tools and fault codes to identify issues and plan repairs.
• Document repair notes and parts used in the maintenance system.
• Communicate with shop lead and team to minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work bay and follow safety procedures.
