Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in East Brunswick, NJ is seeking a Tractor Technician Trainee in Maintenance.

Under close supervision, you will gain foundational knowledge of tools, shop safety and company policies while learning air brake systems, FHWA inspections, and related repairs. This full-time role may involve outdoor work, multiple shifts including nights and weekends, with overtime potential. You will train to perform repairs to manufacturer specs and support the company’s maintenance

Qualifications

• 18 years of age; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
• Willingness to work outdoors or across multiple shifts including nights/weekends
• Ability to lift/move appliances up to 50 pounds
• Ability to read documents and information in English
• Ability to wear PPE and follow shop safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Shadow a more senior team member to learn repairs to company and manufacturer specifications and train to meet standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
• Follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers at all times
• Train to become proficient in routine preventative maintenance and air brake systems and FHWA inspections
