Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an Aerodynamics Engineer to optimize the aerodynamic performance of racing vehicles. You will employ CFD, CAD, and wind tunnel data to design, analyze, and refine vehicle shapes for maximum efficiency, downforce, and stability.

This hybrid role requires at least four onsite days weekly in Concord, NC or Allen Park, MI. You will collaborate with design, vehicle dynamics, and engineering teams, interpret data, and present findings to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering; Masters preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience with CFD software and analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed CFD simulations to analyze and optimize aerodynamic characteristics of racing vehicles and components.
• Utilize CAD to create/modify aerodynamic surfaces for simulation and testing.
• Plan, execute, and analyze wind tunnel data to validate designs and gather performance insights.
• Develop aerodynamic solutions to enhance speed, handling and stability while balancing downforce and drag.
• Collaborate with design, vehicle dynamics, and engineering teams to integrate aero considerations into development.
• Interpret complex aerodynamic data, generate reports, and present findings to leadership.
• Research and implement new aero methodologies to improve development processes and vehicle performance.
• Ensure aero developments comply with motorsports regulations and specs.
