Job summary

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is actively seeking a Special Agent for the Tactical Operations - Tracking Team. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree and a SC Basic Law Enforcement Certification, with integrity and a strong public service drive.

As a Special Agent, you will support local, state, and federal agencies, conduct complex investigations, and perform tracking duties using bloodhounds.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree and demonstrate integrity.
• Certified as a Class I Basic Law Enforcement Officer (SC Academy) is required.
• Membership in the SLED SWAT Team or ability to join is required/possible.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in investigations and tracking assignments, on-call for the Tracking Team, including after-hours responses.
• Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies; gather and share information as needed.
• Perform tracking duties using bloodhounds and coordinate training for K-9 units.
• Prepare clear, timely reports and manage administrative tasks related to tracking operations.
• Accept special assignments as directed by supervision and adapt to field conditions.
