Job summary

PENN Entertainment is seeking a Grounds Maintenance professional to keep racetrack and grounds in top condition. You will operate a range of equipment, perform routine maintenance, and follow safety and policy guidelines in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and strong communication skills. Basic electrical knowledge is a plus and a teamwork-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and facilities maintenance or groundskeeping experience preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid state Driver’s License.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and properly.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical finishing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all departmental and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
• Maintains the racetrack and racing grounds.
• Maintains the appearance of the track; cares for plants and shrubs; applies chemicals as needed under supervision.
• Operates tractors, pickup trucks, and power/hand maintenance tools.
• Performs grounds maintenance duties: weed control, painting, trash collection, irrigation.
• Performs preventative maintenance and cares for all light and heavy equipment.
• Notifies management of suspicious or unusual activity in a timely manner.
• Attends professional group meetings and stays updated on trends in track/grounds maintenance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Maintains confidentiality in all company matters.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the appearance of the track to meet required standards; maintains plants, trees, and sHRubs and applies chemicals as needed, under supervision.
• Operates a variety of vehicles, machinery, and equipment to include tractor, pick-up truck, and power and manual maintenance tools.
• Performs a variety of grounds maintenance duties to include weed treatment, painting, trash collection, and operating of irrigation systems.
• Performs preventative maintenance as needed; cares for and maintains all light and heavy equipment.
• Notifies higher level management of any suspicious or unusual activity in a timely manner.
• Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and innovations in the field of track and ground maintenance.
• Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
• Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and Facilities Maintenance experience in hospitality or related field, or groundskeeping/landscaping experience preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid state Driver’s License.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use all equipment associated with the position in a proper and safe manner.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and basic finishing a plus. - Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization. - Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive approach to dealing with issues.
