Job summary

PENN Entertainment is seeking a facilities maintenance professional to help care for racing surfaces and related track areas. The role supports safety lanes, paddock hills, and snow removal, while operating various equipment to keep daily operations running smoothly.

The successful candidate has at least one year in a similar environment, a valid driver’s license, and strong English communication. This includes basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC knowledge and proficient MS Office skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of facilities maintenance experience in racing or similar setting.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and finishing trades.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic math.
  • Maintain confidentiality and work well with teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and care for the track surface for racing and training purposes.
  • Maintain safety lane for racing and training purposes.
  • Preserve paddock hills from ruts and wash outs.
  • Remove snow in a timely manner.
  • Operate vehicles including trucks, graders, tractors, water truck, skid steer, and front-end loader.
  • Ensure horse ambulance is ready and functioning for daily racing.

  • Responsible for assisting with the maintenance and care of the track surface for racing and training purposes.
  • Assists with maintaining the safety lane for racing and training purposes.

  • Assists with removal snow in a timely manner.
  • Drives vehicles including, but not limited to trucks, graders, tractors, water truck, skid steer, - and front-end loader.

  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum one (1) year of facilities maintenance experience in racing or similar work environment required.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Must have working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and/or finishing trades.
  • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Must have basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
  • Ability to safely operate all equipment, including automobiles, tractors, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
