Job summary

Urban Air Jacksonville is seeking a qualified Mechanic to maintain and repair attractions and related equipment. The role focuses on go-kart track maintenance, performance checks, and ensuring a safe, clean operation in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED with auto mechanic training or related experience, and be willing to work weekends. This on-site position requires physical work and strict safety adherence.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED; auto mechanic training or 6 months related experience.
• Weekends are a must.
• Mechanical repair experience in go-kart, golf cart or motorcycle fields preferred.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform track and go-kart repairs and performance checks.
• Maintain go-kart performance.
• Repair equipment, troubleshoot issues, and maintain the attraction(s) in superior working order.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and parts inventory.
• Responsible for maintaining weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance schedules on all equipment and ensure schedules are carried out.
• Responsible for maintaining work area and back end in a neat and orderly manner.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all staff follows all safety rules.
• Maintain a supply of tools and machinery.
• Ensure the go-kart pit, go-kart shop and track areas remain clean and safe.
• Assist the staff with track operations.
• Perform facility cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Read, interpret diagnostics from manuals.
• Accept other maintenance duties to include, but are not limited to, building maintenance and help with general maintenance of other attractions.
• Other duties as assigned.
