Job summary

UNC Pembroke is seeking an Asst Coach Track and Field & Asst Athletic Performance Coach to join the Athletics Office. The role includes coaching track and field while supervising strength & conditioning for student-athletes and supporting the program's growth in recruitment, competition, and academics.

The position requires a Master's degree, a nationally recognized strength & conditioning certification, and CPR training.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required.
• Significant knowledge of, and demonstrated success in, coaching track and field; excellent teaching and motivational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an academically demanding institution; abide by NCAA Division II and institutional policies.
• Nationally recognized strength & conditioning certification; CPR trained.

Responsibilities

• Coach throws and field position groups for track & field program; grow recruiting and participation numbers for men's and women's programs.
• Supervise all track & field student-athletes in strength & conditioning; supervise 2–3 additional teams as assigned.
• Implement and support new nutrition programming for student-athletes.
• Collaborate with the Head Coach to design, organize, implement, facilitate, oversee and evaluate all NCAA Division II sports programs.
• Recruit student athletes; monitor student academic progress; conduct film analysis; and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
• Support fundraising, practice planning and scheduling, travel, meals, and public relations; perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
• Teach as required and coordinate evening study hall under the leadership of the Center for Student Success.
• Adhere to NCAA Division II and institutional policies; comply with enforcement procedures and applicable regulations; consequences may include disciplinary actions for violations.
