Track Construction Laborer (Lexington, KY)

Responsibilities

• Perform new track construction or maintenance tasks associated with railroad tracks.
• Operate heavy or specialized equipment, including but not limited to skid steer, plugger, spike puller, bolt machine, compactor/ roller.
• Practice safe working habits and ensure proper PPE is being used.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Communicate with team and supervisor throughout the job process.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience working outdoors, preferably in construction.
• Mobility to travel frequently to project sites.
• Safety-conscious with regard to working near equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Able to perform strenuous physical work.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally use tools like a claw bar and sledgehammer, requiring significant force.
• Navigate into confined spaces if necessary.

Environmental Conditions

• Work in outdoor construction settings, around moving vehicles and equipment, exposed to weather elements, with appropriate PPE.
