The Shawano School District has an opening for (2) Assistant Track Coaches) to join the Shawano High School Track and Field Team. Specifically we are looking for a Throws Coach (shot put & discus) and Jumps Coach (High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump). The Role Responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading, developing, and mentoring male and female student athletes. You will help enhance their track and field skills as well as furthering their knowledge and understanding of the sport. Fostering teamwork, instilling discipline, and promoting sportsmanship are essential building blocks of success in this role, contributing to both individual development and collective achievement. You will be responsible for coordinating with the head coach and strength and conditioning program to ensure that athletes are physically prepared, training aligns with the programs performance goals, and injury prevention protocols are effectively implemented. You will be accountable for managing the team equipment and ensuring compliance with school and WIAA regulations.

Role Requirements

The ideal candidate will cultivate teamwork, sportsmanship, and player development while working collaboratively with the varsity coaching staff to establish a positive and competitive track and field program. You will work closely with the varsity head coach to design practice plans and approaches that align with the overall philosophy of the track and field program. Additionally, you will maintain clear and consistent communication with student-athletes, parents, and staff, while upholding the highest standards of conduct, respect, and academic support for our student-athletes.
